How does it all work?

Building a Product By Collaboration

KP has 20 years of experience in the publishing industry. We were founded by teachers who wanted to create a better way to publish educational materials. Our LMS (Learning Management System) has universal standards that make creating and sharing content easy for teachers.

Here's hows the process works:

  1. A founding committee is formed from teachers who are interested to a topic. The committee meets to define the program and standards they want covered. Topics are assigned based on strengths and what content is readily available.

  2. The committee identifies specialized topics that may require recruiting. At this point, market research will begin to determine viability and sales structure.

  3. The committee reviews all content submitted to ensure quality. This is when the group can discuss opposing viewpoints and may include both as a measure of perspective.

  4. Once the content is accepted, it goes to the KP Editorial team to be imported into our LMS framework. At this point, missing elements will be notified.

  5. The committee sets the price. Content submitted earns equity on the product. You will get paid in perpetuity as a member of KPPUBU. Compared to traditional publishing, which pays minimal royalties, KP puts the power in the hands of the members and pays royalties of up to five times that.

  6. KP markets the curriculum to schools, offering a demo while decision-makers approve the product. When sales happen, money will be placed in a royalty pool, and the committee will disperse it to the members.

KP Publishing is an innovative way for teachers to publish educational materials. We offer a collaborative environment, high-quality standards, and a fair compensation structure.
